Producer’s Rep Jon Gursha Opens New Shop with Film Marketing Services
The interactive producer’s representation firm announces new project line-up
Los Angeles, CA (November 5, 2008). Producers Rep Jon Gursha sets out to establish his own credentials by creating a new company aiming to represent talented and emerging filmmakers in the international and national market place. With a line-up of new projects just in time for American Film Market, Gursha represents a new generation of producers reps that hone on emerging technologies to better serve tech savvy filmmakers.
Gursha polished his skills as a producer’s rep while working with Page Ostrow at Ostrow and Company Producers Representatives but began his trajectory in the entertainment industry at NBC while working on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Weakest Link and many other NBC shows after graduating from Emerson College. Since 2001, he has amassed valuable experience in film and television production while working in the advertising and marketing field.
His new company Film Marketing Services (http://filmmarketingservices.com/) works to handle all the contract negotiations for international and domestic distribution across all platforms. Building on Gursha’s ad and marketing experience, the company sets out to build internet campaigns to better align projects with buyers. Additionally, it arranges film financing for films in development and creates unique packages to make films attractive to international and domestic financing outlets.
Film Marketing Services has already garnered interest from cable networks for the dramatic film entitled CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE made by Philadelphia based award winning filmmaker and actress Natalie Paige Bentley. Additionally, Gursha will be repping the partnership deals for Bill Wade’s SECRETS OF LOVE and Mark Tierney’s Marylebone Films/Virtual Content of California four-picture slate to begin production in 2009.

- CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE (drama/completed/feature film) – Written and directed by Philadelphia filmmaker Natalie Paige Bentley, the film tells a story about a thirteen year boy who has committed a violent crime and the destruction of the surrounding lives in the aftermath. www.comlmovie.com or www.cityofmotherlylovemovie.com.
- JOURNEY TO SUNDANCE (documentary) – Directed by NYC native Julian Starks, the doc examines the crushing reality of the fierce competition of the motion picture industry and the plight of many young directors. It offers a glimpse into the altruistic history of Sundance and multimillion-dollar, star-studded annual reception that it now draws. Includes interviews with Kevin Smith, Vin Diesel, Chaz Palminteri, John Malkovich, Jennifer Aniston, Mira Sorvino, and others.
- ART OF PAIN (comedy-horror/ completed/85 minutes) – Former aspiring painter turned movie theatre attendant encounters an overly aggressive ninja-in-training who’s motto “great art comes from great pain” leads them on a trail to seduction, murder and maiming. www.artofpainmovie.com
- AMERICAN GUYS (comedy, DVD, 75 minutes) - Thomas Wilson Brown, Bernie Coulson, Christopher Blackwell, and comedian Tony Harris star in the award winning comedy that thrilled the audience as the grand finale showing at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival and won an award for distinguished filmmaking. It’s a mixture of fun and crazy situations that will have everyone laughing.
- SECRETS OF LOVE (tv mini-series/ pre-production/3 x 1hr) – A three-part mini-series for Valentine’s 2009 that explores relationships that will change your view of love with compelling viewpoints and insights from the minds of the world’s top relationship experts such as Deepak Chopra, M.D among others.
